First, these are cute barrettes, and they don't slip in my hair - I like them. I ordered 3 different barrettes including this pair. Two out of the three had defects. I was able to fix a bent clasp on one item. This mini pair, however, were two different sizes and did not look like a pair. When I called for an exchange I was told the company would not pay for the mismatched pair to be sent back. In fact I was surprised when I was told "oh it won't cost very much for you to send them back." (!?) When I paid this price, I did not expect to run into these problems. Though I like the barrettes, they have not been worth the cost, or hassle.

If you're not familiar with France Luxe hair products, and are concerned about the value for the price, don't give it another thought.
Those cheap, plastic barrettes you may buy from Walgreen's will be tossed next year when you organize your "hair junk" - IF they don't snap in two from regular use. You'll have your France Luxe hair accessories to hand down to your granddaughter. Yes, they're that nice - think of the accoutrements from the 20s and 30s that are so valuable today; France Luxe accessories are the heirlooms of tomorrow.
All of France Luxe's items (I have several - they are collectible and addictive) are handmade and polished to perfection - "hair-friendly", with nary a sharp edge to snag your tresses. The material makes one think of actual tortoiseshell (though animal-friendly, thank goodness!)
Extra attention to detail - like the little "push" bar in the center of the top of these tiny barrettes, which keeps them secure in even the finest, silkiest hair - ensures that you'll actually use these often and they won't slip out like those cheapies.
The Amazon vendor (the US distributor for France Luxe, I believe) even includes silky drawstring tote bags for each item - a necessity as you won't want to toss them in your hair doo-dad Ziplock to be shamefully scratched by those cheap, sharp imitations. They ship incredibly fast as well.
After buying my first France Luxe piece, I never again worried about the price tag. Neither will you.
