Sadly, this is a bad combination of good design, good shaving soap and very poor quality shaving bowl material.
I have been using L'Occitane's shaving soap for a couple of years now and the soap is great, however, I'm on my third bowl because it deteriorates very quickly. Within weeks I started seeing metal particles coming off the bowl and appearing in my lather. The outside also got very stained, very fast.

The big thing about shaving bowls is that you tend to use them near water (sinks, showevers, etc). While I rather like the L'occitane shaving soap that comes with this bowl, the bowl itself is aluminum, and after only a few weeks of use has started to corrode very badly.
The design of the bowl is otherwise good, so they should consider other shaving bowl materials (stainless steel, nickel, or even a good plastic) that are less likely to corrode.
