Pretty good April 26, 2008 It's so hard to find a perfect concealer. This isn't perfect- it does get a little cakey if you don't apply it with a brush. I only use the yellower side of the concealer as it matches my skin better. That being said it is much better than most other concealers out there.
Perhaps the brush is the key? January 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage came highly recommended to me by several people. It worked really, really well for them.
I will admit up front that I don't have the special Laura Mercier application brush and I do believe in the benefits of a good brush. I've tried applying this with fingertips and cosmetic sponges and it's a nightmare. This stuff is so thick it's just impossible. I've tried it a handful of times and it is so cumbersome to try and get it applied that I've given up. I may try the brush and see if it helps because people really do rave about this stuff.
Best concealer I've used December 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wish that I could give this 4 1/2 stars...This concealer has the greatest dark circle coverage I have been able to find. As other reviewers have stated, this product has a pretty dry consistency- that is my only complaint. For those with really dark circles I would recommend applying before your foundation, as I think that it "sticks" better than if you try to put it over your base (the Laura Mercier website recommends applying after foundation). Because it is so dry, I always make sure to use some sort of moisturizer on my under-eye area. I have normal to dry skin and I am able to use it without problem. Also, I find that I apply it with my fingertips more often than a brush and am very happy with the coverage. As much as I have spent over the years on dozens of products, this is a great value and product.
Nice coverup November 5, 2007 Once I learned from the Laura Mercier website to use my fountaion first them the coverup it worked much better. I like it alot and covers up my very dark cirlces better than most products. Not heavy or sticky. Goes on with just a little patting so easy on the eye area. Finish off with a little mineral powder and lasts most the day.
By far the best concealer I have ever used September 30, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I find that this is generally one of Lauras most misunderstood products. While you might be able to use this product as an undereye concealer, I wonder if she intended it to be used in that way. This concealer, in comparison to her Secret Concealer, is somewhat drier. This is because it allows it better cling to your face, and you want it to stick to your trouble spots. This concealer is amazing, because it covers scarring and red spots quite well without looking cakey and like you have pancake makeup on your face. If you have serious flaws on your skin, this will help, but it won't make them completely go away. The key to using this product is to start with the darker shade and PAT it on your trouble spots, keep patting to blend. You can use the lighter shades to lighten up the nose to mouth lines and darker spots around your nose. I also use the lighter shade to blend the darker shade in a bit. The key is to pat and warm it up on your skin.
