Simplistic elegance seems to be the long-time mantra of Clinique. Swearing to remain a neutral consumer when trying this product, it's become difficult not to make a full-fledged recommendation. For every woman who wants to look pretty, classic, and elegant, Clinique defines the latest makeup bag must.
The Wand - The defining factor, Clinique unites innovation with convenience with a part-bristles, part-comb wand. More defined than lush, the bristles themselves attract fewer clumps, and after applying a coat of the mascara, a gal needs only turn the wand slightly in her hand to comb out the lashes, lengthening and separating and leaving a clean, chic look.
Mascara Quality - Impressive mainly because it lacks the "goop" factor that leaves clumps on lashes and smears throughout the day beneath the eye. I emphasize, it is not thick enough to offer a sultry nighttime look, but for those who want all-day makeup it remains clean and in place.
Durability - So long football player eyes; I can finally say I have a mascara that remains fresh-looking all day long. I even applied it before helping a friend move for the ultimate sweat test. It didn't budge. For women on the go or makeup wearing gym rats, you're likely to be left satisfied.
The Irritability Factor - True to their reputation, Clinique offers a product appropriate for the majority of women. Most importantly, it does not allow annoying flakes to invade and irritate the eyes. Their own website doesn't brag that it's for sensitive eyes, so for those truly sensitive more research may be necessary.
Overall Value - At $14 a pop, the investment (if one can even call it that) is well worth it for the small amount of extra money you'll pay over drugstore prices. For the classy, moderately makeup-ed gal, the purchase is sure to perk up your entire array of makeup and if you're anything like me, leave you feeling confident that you're decked out in a product offering beauty and reliability.
