 Very bad lipstick consider its price May 13, 2008
After reading so many good reviews of Nars sheer lipstick in the shade "Belle du Jour", I got all excited since I am a huge fan of nude lipstick and this shade is suppose to be a winning nude shade according to some magazine. The next day I went and bought 1 at a department store. Once I put it on, I am totally disappointed. I can't believe a $30+ lipstick can be this drying and hard to put on. I already used a lip primer to smooth my lips and the color just barely glides on. At first, it felt ok in terms of moisturizing for the lips, after maybe 5 minutes, felt completely dry and too matte (I understand this is a matte lipstick but i expect it to be matte with minimal level of shine. The worst thing about this lipstick is the unbareable stickyness, its worst than lipgloss' kinda stickiness. I am very satisfied with the shade though, its the perfect beige/peach nude I am looking for, however, Its just totally not worthed to pay $30+ for this, I would have guessed this must some $5 drugstore brand lipstick if I didn't know. I went and bought a Smashbox lipstick in "Elegant" instead, I am sooooo happy about it, its the perfect nude color, smell so nice and feel so smooth.

i really love the look of dark, matte lipsticks, but i find i can't wear them all the time - too much maintenance involved. for everyday wear, i love NARS sheer lipsticks because they give you great color, but it's less in your face. they go on really nicely and don't dry out the lips. they also stay on longer than most other lipsticks.
