Product Description Rachael Yamagata has hardly been idle since her acclaimed 2004 full-length debut, Happenstance, and its Adult Top 40 hit 'Worn Me Down.' So for her Warner Bros. premiere, the singer-songwriter-pianist with the sultry voice unveils a double disc set: Elephants...Teeth Sinking Into Heart. Produced largely by Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley, The Faint), and also John Alagia (John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, Happenstance), Elephants is darker and more vulnerable while the more guitar-driven Teeth Sinking Into Heart is grittier and more defiantly cynical. Together, they reveal the two sides of one of today's most entrancing artists.
Album Description Explicit Version. Two CD set. Elephants... Teeth Sinking Into Heart is the second full-length album by Rachael Yamagata. The album is split into two parts/CDs: Elephants, which will feature a darker, more vulnerable and intimate tone, is said to be more familiar with Yamagata's debut, Happenstance; while Teeth Sinking Into Heart, shows a grittier, more cynical side of the artist, who has described it as "this mix of 'Pulp Fiction' surf guitar, PJ Harvey and Tom Waits-flavored rock tunes which would be great to play live but ... just developed into this entity that would break the beauty of ('Elephants')." The album will contain fifteen tracks (one of them hidden), the first ten appearing in Elephants.

Getting Even Better! December 2, 2008 The title says it all a fantastic follow up album well worth the wait. Those of you who are not familiar with Rachael Yamagata I urge you to buy this album. From start to finish this oozes quality, This would make a great Christmas present to yourself!!!
A little too painful December 1, 2008 I like Yamagata and thought 'Happenstance' was brilliant, but this one just plodded on - you'll need to be in an almost comatose mood to enjoy it... I'm told Disc 2 is more promising, but I couldn't even get past track 3 on Disc 1... am hopeful that further spins may reveal some gems...
Stuning November 27, 2008 Again Happenstance i'm speechless ..... to good to be true! Amazing vocals and the atmosphere is emotional and creepy at the same time.
Listen to it 3 times and the only music you hear this year is Rachael Yamagata!!!!
Greeetz from the netherlands!
Sorry Rachael, but your previous CD was by far better. November 26, 2008 First of all this CD is great. But not as great as her las CD. I think that when Rachael signed with warner have to sell more and sacrifice the soul of he music. In the last EP we get a beautiful song that now is not included in this CD. What happened?
Worth the wait November 17, 2008 Have been waiting for 2 years for a follow up to the last musical endeavor. Elephants...Teeth Sinking Into Heart was worth the wait. Rachael speaks from the heart.
