Good idea, bad realization December 2, 2008 I bought this lacquer as a gift for my wife. She tried it and said that the poor quality of varnish, inconvenient brush and paint the nails as shown in advertising "easily and naturally" - does not work. It is a pity, because the delivery of four sticks cost me anout 45 dollars. In two times more than goods.
OPI NIKS STIKS #2 November 25, 2008 I love Nik's Sticks but I need to remember the method for pumping to get the polish flowing. I pumped too many times and got polish all over the place. Operator error.
Good product for what it is. November 2, 2008 I bought the black, light pink and top coat Nic Sticks at Target (wanted to try them out before I bought more on Amazon).
The Positives: These are GREAT if you don't have time to wait for regular nail polish dry, or if you need to polish your nails while doing other things (as opposed to sitting down and painting nail by nail.) I did mine while walking over to the Halloween party I was going to. The design is obviously great for travel, and touch-ups.
The color is great after putting on enough coats (see "The Negatives") and it dried so fast that I didn't have to worry about chips or clumps after bumping my nails into different items a few minutes after applying the polish.
The Negatives: I love OPI, but this isn't the highest quality nail polish ever. I put the polish on one day, and it was already chipping around the tops of my nails the next evening; by day 3 there were more visible chips in the polish. Don't expect a lasting-wear polish job with these things.
I haven't tried the light-pink color yet, but with darker colors you need at least three coats of paint. Any less than that (especially with the black) it looks streaky and faded on your nails. Three coats looked perfect.
Overall: I'm going to mostly stick with my OPI bottled-polish, however I'm going to buy a few more colors in these Nic Sticks since they're incredibly convenient, easy to travel with, and look great for such an easy polish job before going out for the night.
not bad October 24, 2008 i bought this because i thought it would be easier to paint my right hand (with my left hand) which usually comes out a mess. at first i was disappointed with the short fat brush. it's not perfect, but it's not terrible. i bought the black color and one coat is fine, but i did two just in case.
so i'm not blown over by this product... but i'm not cursing the fact that i bought it either. i say, try it out if you're interested!
Easy application, but... September 5, 2008 The ease of application is the best feature of this polish. It is a perfect size to give you control. I had to retouch the following morning and have had to do a number of retouches in the week I've worn the polish. Maybe a little expensive for what you get.
