Great Brush November 20, 2008 all i have to say is wow. i cant believe what a difference the brush actually gives. ive been experimenting different blades and brushes and creams/soaps. all i can say is this is really worth it. its a good price if you have noticed other badger brushes. the stand is w.e but does what the purpose is. i will never go back to the cheap synthetic and boar hair brushes again. or the expensive cartridge razors again.
Great brush, but I won't stand for the stand November 6, 2008 This is a wonderful entry-level badger hair brush. I am, however, disappointed with the cheap plastic so-called "stand." It is junk! It is no more than something to keep the brush from being damaged in the plastic tube it is in. Not sure if they sell this without the stand, if so, and it is cheaper, I would not get this stand. rather I would purchase a seperate stand.
BADGER SHAVING BRUSH November 3, 2008 AGAIN I BOUGHT THIS ALONG WITH THE SOAP FROM ITALY AND IT IS VERY VERY GOOD! GREAT VALUE FOR THE PRICE AND MY HUSBAND LOVES IT!! I WOULD BUY AGAIN!!!
This brush is where to start August 22, 2008 I recently switched back to wet shaving after many years of an electric. I started out by buying a Gillette Fusion that came with a can of Fusion shave gel. I then decided to experiment with shave soap and brush. I bought a tube of C.O. Bigelow shave cream from Bath & Body Works, I've been lead to believe it's made by Proraso. I picked up a brush from Walmart, a boars hair brush to be specific. I used the two together a few times but can't say I was extremely impressed, mainly because of the brush. It did an OK job of spreading lather, but it felt like I was getting poked in the face by a bunch of little needles, and it took quite a bit of soap to build a good lather. I actually did like the shaving cream though so I figured I'd give it another shot and order a "good" brush. All I can say is WOW!! What a difference!! Not only does it take less soap to build a lather in the shaving bowl, the lather actually increases as you apply it. Also, using the brush now feels good on my face, especially when it's still hot. Anyway, if you're switching to wet shaving, start out by getting this brush and a good quality shave cream. By the way, the Fusion did pretty good job, cartridges for it though are pretty expensive.
Great brush, crappy stand June 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The brush is great; the soft badger bristles are holding out pretty well. The stand, on the other hand, is as cheap as it looks. It does, however, hold the brush upside down, which is its only purpose.
Also, bonus points for being able to reuse the plastic tube it comes in as a cover for it when traveling.
