Seems to work, though expensive August 11, 2008 i break out from time to time, and have been using these for the past 2 weeks, on top of my normal regimen. ive noticed that the dry spots on my face are evened out. around my nose used to get a little flakey, but that went away almost immediately. and ive only gotten 1 or 2 small pimples that have disappeared quickly.
that may not sound so impressive, but i break out a lot in the summer. so to only get a few small pimples over a 2 week span is pretty darn good.
so if you can afford it, id say they are worth it.
Seems to be alright. November 30, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I picked up a bottle of Murad Pure Skin Clarifying Supplement on a whim one afternoon. I'm 20 years old, and my skin can't quite decide what it wants to do at this point. I break out occasionally, but am almost constantly plagued with clogged pores and the like. What fluctuates, however, is my skin's dryness or tendency to resemble an oil slick. I'm not sure whether the dryness is natural or a side effect from attacking my face with every acne fighter known to man. *shrug* Anyways, I've been taking these supplements for about two months now. The instructions say to take two (horse size) tablets twice a day. I'm not as good as I should be about remembering to take them all the time. That said, I have noticed a slight improvement. My skin seems to be more even with less oil. I also have noticed that I'm getting fewer pimples. Additionally, the pimples that I do get seem to heal up a day or two sooner than I'm normally used to. One side effect that I've noticed from taking these (sorry if this is a little gross) is that there must be an unusually high level of some sort of vitamin/mineral that I'm sensitive to, because these pills turn my pee BRIGHT/neon yellow. Bottom line: $30-some dollars is a lot of money to pay for a bottle of vitamins. However, if you go to GNC and buy a bottle of premium, high-quality supplements, you're going to spend roughly the same amount. I am seeing small improvements in my skin, and I know that I'm getting a good vitamin supplement. Another plus is that these supplements are animal by-product free.
**UPDATE** I re-read the bottle and noticed that it does in fact contain animal by-products. It says: Contains Soy and Fish. Contains NO yeast, dairy, egg, gluten, corn, wheat, starch, salt preservatives, or artificial flavor or fragrance.
This stuff REALLY works for me. November 28, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've used this product for a year now and LOVE IT. I'm 38 yrs old and, though I have very dry skin, was all of a sudden suffering from these painful hard cysts on my face that would last for weeks. They would get large, too. I had never suffered from acne either. I started these tablets and voila--it cleared up and they stopped showing up within less than two months. A zit of any kind is now rare for me. My skin is not as dry as before either. A couple of times I've stopped taking the pills because it took awhile to find the bottles in stores (often out of stock) and during the off time after about a month I broke out in my typical hard cysts. As soon as I started back the pills within a month they went away. I'm absolutely convinced they work. WORTH THE MONEY.
Scared to quit taking it February 15, 2007 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I have been taking the Murad supplements for about 6 months. I think that they have helped me reduce my acne and breakouts, but I'm just not sure! I have mild/moderate acne, and I definitely still get the occasional pimple. What I have noticed is that my skin now seems to heal faster and be more balanced. Before taking the supplements, my combination skin was both very oily/greasy and very dry & flaky. Now, it is somewhere in between - I don't have any oil slicks or flakes. Besides making my skin feel healthier, the Murad supplements are a good general multi-vitamin. So while I cannot say that they definitely reduce acne, I have to admit that I would be too terrified of what would happen to my skin if I quit taking these supplements. I consider them part of my skin care essentials.
