irritating and contains controversial ingredient - oxybonzone September 25, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
It feels a little too thick for me and I would prefer a lotion feeling. It is also a little bit harder to spread evenly, probably because it contains SPF. I have used it for several months now and did not see much improvement of my dark circles.
But my major problem with it is that it irritates my eyes. It usually feels fine when I just applied it. But during the day if I touch my eyes or if tears come out after I yarn, the eye cream can get into my eyes and my eyes will hurt. I have no problem with any of my other eye creams including many lancome eye creams and serums, origins no puffy eyes, shiseido's, and l'oreal's eye creams.
Later, I found out that it contains a controversial ingredient, oxybonzone. Although there is no definite results about the negative effects of it, oxybonzone is a powerful free radical generator activated by ultraviolet light. These free radicals could initiate a reaction that may ultimately lead to melanoma and other skin cancers. To be safe, I would prefer to use oxybonzone free products. So I stopped using it.
Perfect for that delicate skin around your eyes November 5, 2004 3 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have the beginnings of crow's feet. The Essential C Eye Cream has helped to decrease the lines and restored the elasticity and suppleness of the delicate skin around my eyes.
