Not worth the money March 16, 2008 As much as I love Bare Escentuals, this brush is a HUGE disappointment. The handle part is way to small to get a controlling grip on if you've got arthritis, dexterity problems or even longer than average nails. It sheds like crazy, either whole long hairs or broken off ones...and it's nowhere near as soft as it is described. For the money, and the rate at which it has to be replaced, get a higher end "cheapo" brush at your local Whatever-Mart and you won't feel so bad when it comes time to pitch it.
Good for about 3 months then throw away and get a new one!! March 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great brush BUT after a few months of use, the bristles start to have split ends and break off... pretty ironic. Otherwise this brush give good coverage and it is pretty gentle on the skin. Just remember to get a back up one!
short term gain, long term pain December 31, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
When new, this brush is well designed and an excellent applicator for Bare Minerals fine powders: it blends beautifully. But, after a few months, it starts to lose its bristles. On your face. After 6 months, it began to shed like my cats in spring; after applying foundation, my face, eyelashes and sweaters were a furry mess.
I cannot seem to find an equally well shaped, fine brush for this product, so I just offer this caveat: the Kabuki brush must be replaced after several months - which makes it pricey when you think of year-to-year costs.
Low quality for the price October 15, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Kabuki brush came in the "get started" bare minerals kit. The kit is fantastic, and I would recommend it to everyone. However, if you didn't buy the kit and want to buy this brush separately, I would advise against it. While it does cover your skin evenly, it is made very poorly. The bristles started falling out immediately after I opened the brush. They end up all over your face, and it can become irritating. One would think that they would make a good brush for the expensive price, but it really isn't that great. However, the buffing brush and the concealer brush that come in the kit are great. This one just isn't made the same.
It's okay August 12, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
$28 seemed a little high at the time I purchased it - so I think I was expecting more than what I got. I haven't had any shedding problems, and it applies the makeup very well. I like this brush...but it's way overpriced. I mean, come on...it's a BRUSH!!!
